Family Support Worker Vacancy

We are currently looking for a Family Support Worker to join our team. The position is part-time, 8 hours a week. The salary is £27,254 pro rata (Point 9 NJC payscale). The position will be community-based family support.

We’ve Moved to a New Instagram Account!

We’ve got some exciting news — we’ve launched a brand-new Instagram account!  After our previous account became inactive, we’re starting fresh with @homestartnorthdown. You can now find us over there, where we’ll continue sharing all the amazing things happening in our family groups, as well as tips, stories, and opportunities for getting involved in our community.

But don’t worry — we’re still active on Facebook, too! We’ll continue to post updates, event info, and support resources on both platforms, so you can stay connected in whichever way works best for you. 💙

Volunteers Needed for Autumn Training Session 

Home-Start North Down is looking for volunteers to join our volunteer training course this autumn. Perhaps you’re looking for a rewarding way to make a real difference in the community? We’d love to chat with you about our training opportunities.

By volunteering you will be able to share your skills and life experience with other parents to help them navigate the challenges of family life.

Volunteers are needed to help support families in their family homes across Bangor, Conlig, Donaghadee and Holywood and in our family groups which run weekly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in Bangor.

Volunteers receive intensive training which provides them with the skills, knowledge and confidence to flourish as a volunteer. Out of pocket expenses are reimbursed.

Families from Donaghadee have always been part of the catchment of our project, but from mid September we will be making a more visible presence in Donaghadee; actively recruiting volunteers from the area and offering some services in the town. It was so lovely to see so many of our volunteers for our meet up in Ward Park at the start of August. We really enjoyed seeing you all and also seeing you catch up with each other after so long.
